Luke edgell
Luke is the Co-Director of The Football Performance Academy and brings with him over 12 years of coaching experience in the field of Strength & Conditioning, Speed Coaching and Athlete Development.
To date, Luke has mentored 100’s of coaches, both face-to-face and online, whilst being fortunate enough to have coached 7 Olympians during this time. His passion for working with field & court-based athletes led him to Phoenix, Arizona, in 2016 to complete the world-renowned Apprentice Coach Program (ACP) with ALTIS, a week-long program spent with the fastest athletes in the world and some of the world’s most renowned track and field coaches.
Since this time, Luke has developed some of the Matildas and NZ Ferns’ fastest players whilst continuing to work closely with players from Crystal Palace, WSW, Sydney FC and Manly United on their speed development.
Luke is also the Director of EdgePerformance and is the Assistant Head of Athletic Development at the prestigious Shore School in North Sydney, where he programs and coaches for all students across all sports.
JOSH GOULD
Josh is the Co-Director of The Football Performance Academy and brings with him a deep expertise in the field of football performance.
Josh is currently a Sports Scientist for Football Australia Men’s National Teams, working closely with the best footballers in Australia across the Socceroos, Olyroos (u23's) and Joey’s (u17’s).
Between his National Team duties, Josh runs Gould Performance, where he develops professional and semi-professional athletes worldwide. Alongside this, he is also the 1st XI Football Coach and Strength & Conditioning Coach at the prestigious Shore School.
Previously, Josh worked as a Sport Scientist and Performance Analyst with Macarthur Bulls in the A-League whilst also playing Semi-Professionally in the NSW NPL1 Men’s Competition.
Josh has studied extensively to level up his expertise and knowledge, holding a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Management, a Master of High-Performance Sport and a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science (Honours) at UTS Sydney, alongside other football and sport science accreditations.
He is a current PhD Candidate, investigating periodisation in elite football contexts.
